Things You'll Need

    - Smart phone with Wi-Fi
    - VOIP application (e.g. Skype)
    - Credit card or PayPal account (to phone Landlines)

Instructions

1. Download the VOIP app of your choice from your phone's application store to your smartphone.
2. Open the VOIP app by tapping it on your home screen. Follow the application's instructions for setting up an account with the application. If you want to be able to call-phones that don't have the same VOIP app, you will need to purchase calling minutes. If you want to be able to receive calls from people without the app, you will need to purchase a phone number for use with the app.
   
3. Search for others on your VOIP network and add them to the phone book on your app, following the instructions for the app.
4. Make free calls to other app users just by tapping their names in your phone book. Make calls to non-users by tapping on the app's button for dialing numbers, and dial the number just as you would on a regular call. The app will keep track of your minutes and deduct them from your account.

Tips & Warnings

• Because VOIP calls are free to others using the same app, a bit of organization among the contacts you call frequently can save you all a lot of money. Find out which VOIP app your contacts use and install the same one, or talk everybody into deciding on the same app.

• You must have a Wi-Fi connection to make free calls with VOIP. The 3G and 4G Internet connections are going through your cellphone service, so you will pay for the data transfer time if you try to make a VOIP call with these connections.
